Ho, Ho, Ho!

Christmas Day is upon us. We have already done Santa and the unwrapping at home and are getting ready to go to my Dad's. I am grateful for the occurrances of the previous year and look forward to the next. We went to church last night and it was nice to actually experience a part of the holiday. Though I lean toward Pagan, I also enjoy the spirituality of my youth. I am looking forward to heading to the Everglades, Collier-Seminole State Park to begin the new year.

Indiana Cold

In Indiana right now visiting the in-laws and it is COLD. Makes me really look forward to the after Christmas trip south. I have just about had enough of the cold AND all of the food. I definitely have not been good thus far during the holiday season. Oh well, I will at 50 be the fittest I have EVER been. At least as fit. There is one point around 1991 that would be hard to surpass. Well, am enjoying the trip and time off at least, but still ready to head back south.

Happiest Holidays

Wow, listening to some music and hope that I can share it here. Getting me in the spirit. Though not a Christian by faith, I do believe in the practices. Hope it shows. Jamendo is a great resource.

Ready for the Holidays

I am truly ready for the holidays. Trying to make sure that I get all the work done that needs doing this week so that I will have a clear mind with which just to enjoy. I am getting off for two weeks and will be heading to the Everglades for a week after Christmas. For today the plan is work, pick up dog and work out. My goal is to get through the holidays and weigh in at less that 160 on New Years day. I want to work out and get to a weight that I am more comfortable running. I am looking at 145 to 147. There is no real hurry, though once again a goal is to be my fittest at 50, which will occur May 11 of next year. I do understand that fittest does not mean I will not have the aches, pains and loss of some muscle mass associated with being 50. :)

Track to Fit 50

Well, I am six months from the big 50. Though fairly fit for my age, it is time to get on the fit 50 track. I could use the excuse of the new year to sluff off until then, but if so I will be terribly irritable during the holiday. Sluffing causes irritation. I will commit myself this week to a M,W,F run and eating in a way that is sane. Been binging on carbs a bit lately. So, instead of starting on New Years day, I won't to be able to start flying on New Years Day. Back problems I hope will not prevent me from increasing my running mileage, but if they do, I will manage some other way to stay in peak fitness with a goal, by my 50th birthday to be as fit as I have ever been.

The Journey Contiunes

Just starting here in a new blog. I am sitting with my seven year old on by his terms a "mancation". A vacation with mom out of town for a long weekend. It is snowing outside and he is hoping his best for a snow day out from school. Me, it would be a snow day also as I work IT in the schools. Well, maybe we can just have a fantastic "mancation"?
